Passionate About Paris

After visiting this city many times, Hayley at Holiday Hamster has put together why she is “Passionate About Paris“. This article includes places she likes to visit, and things she loves to eat whilst in this beautiful city.

Places To See

The Eiffel Tower, Paris

Eiffel Tower

This iconic landmark is a definite must do whilst visiting Paris. Standing over 300m tall you can often see this whilst flying into Paris (Depending on what flight path you are on). If you would like to go up the Eiffel Tower then it is recommended that you pre book your tickets before you go, otherwise you could have a very long wait. Whilst at the top there are stunning 360 degree views of the spectacular city, so make sure to take a camera to capture them.

Notre Dame

This iconic cathedral and star of the film Hunchback of Notre Dame is an absolutely stunning building is definitely worth visiting. The structure and the presentation on the outside is beautiful, but you must take a look inside. Ladies you need to make sure you have something to cover your shoulders. The incredible stain glass windows and the very detailed sculptures truly make this medieval catholic cathedral a visit to remember.

Arc de Triomphe

As one of the most famous monuments in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe is another one of the must see’s in Paris. You can purchase tickets to climb up the 40 stairs at this monument to take in the views. And don’t worry, you won’t have to face the traffic as there is an underground tunnel for easy access.

Places To Visit

Disneyland Paris

To make your trip super magical, then you need to visit Disneyland Paris, especially if you’re with the kids. There’s plenty for everyone, from riding the rides, meeting your favourite characters and watching spectacular parades. There are 2 parks, Parc Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios, both have different rides and attractions for all to enjoy. There is also the Disney Village where you can browse the shops to buy souvenirs or eat at one of the many restaurants.

For that ultimate shopping trip, this is the place to be. This is a designer outlet and home to luxury fashion designs. Ideal for buying a lovely gift for someone or even if you are treating yourself. If you are staying at Disneyland Paris then it is only 5 minutes away on the RER and 35 minutes from Paris itself.

Things To Try

French Wine

Most people enjoy having a glass of wine, and in Paris it is the thing to do, especially with your meals. With a huge choice of Red, White and Rose there is a taste to suit everyone. You can even go on a wine tasting day, where you will experience lots of French wine. So go ahead and relax with a glass (or bottle) of your favourite French wine.

Cheese

Sometimes cheese can go hand in hand with the wine. But there are lots of delicious French cheese’s to try. You can go on a cheese tasting tour, or you can combine it with the wine tasting and do the two together. But be sure to try at least a couple of the cheeses.

Ratatouille

A traditional tasty stewed vegetable dish and originates from France is the ratatouille dish. This became one of my favourites after eating in Bistro Chez Remy, a restaurant based on Disney’s Ratatouille. This was served as a side dish with the meal, but added extra flavour and made it all the more tastier.
