Moremi Game Reserve
The Moremi Game Reserve rests on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. It was also voted the best game reserve in Africa in 2008 by the African travel and tourism association. It comprises a stunning landscape of forests, lagoons, floodplains and islands.
Due to Moremi holding tremendous scientific environmental and conservation importance it is the only officially protected part of the Okavango Delta. The reserve is home to the big five as well as other herbivores and carnivores and over 400 species of birds.
Moremi game reserve is the ideal place for the self-drive camper and a visit to this reserve is often paired up with a visit to Chobe National Park. Chiefs Island and Moremi Tongue are two prominent geographical features and a definite must see to add to your journey.
