Government Eases International Travel Restrictions
The Government have today released a list of the countries you can return to England from as of Friday 10th July and will not be required to Quarantine for 14 days. You can view the full list here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors#travel-corridors-countries-and-territories-exemption-list. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be publishing their own advice in the coming days.
The FCO advice against Non-Essential travel remains in place but has been confirmed as being amended from tomorrow (4th July), allowing us to travel to those listed countries.
Please Note: This does not necessarily mean that you can travel to all of those countries listed as it states: “You will have to comply with coronavirus requirements in the country you travel to. This may include self-isolating or providing your details to local authorities.” Many of the listed countries still have restrictions for British citizens and those who have transited through the UK within the past 14 days.
Despite the above news being a step in the right direction, the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and we would strongly advise that you speak to your insurance provider to confirm exactly what you will and will not be covered for if you are planning to travel or make a future booking.
As ever, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Holiday Hamster team who will be more than happy to assist you.
