Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes located in the southern part of the Namib Desert, in the Namib-Naukluft national park of Namibia, which is the largest conservation area in Africa. Sossusvlei translates into dead end marsh.

Sossusvlei is one of Namibia’s main must see attractions whether for the opportunity to grab some truly spectacular photographs or for the more adventurous thrill seeking tourist there is 4x4ing, sand boarding and sky balloon safaris or mix photography and thrill seeking together and the end result could be unbelievable.

Big daddy is the tallest sand dune in Sossusvlei and is 325 meters tall. For some amazing pictures climb to the top for some incredible views of Deadvlei. Big daddy is just one dune you can climb there are plenty more. Make sure to take lots of water with you.
