This affects all of the Thomas Cook Group, including the UK tour operator and airline. All Thomas Cook bookings, including flights and holidays, have now been cancelled. If you are due to depart from a UK airport with Thomas Cook Airlines, please do not travel to your UK airport as your flight will not be operating and you will not be able to travel.

What Will Happen With My Booking?
If you are away on a Thomas Cook Package Holiday
Don’t Worry! The CAA will arrange for you to complete your holiday as planned. They have set up the Thomas Cook Flying Programme to bring you back to the UK at the end of your holiday – Please ensure you have your ATOL Certificate with you. If you do not have your certificate, please contact your travel agent for a copy.
Future Thomas Cook Holidays
If you are booked on a future Thomas Cook package holiday you are financially protected under the ATOL Scheme – Please ensure you have a copy of your ATOL Certificate as you would need this to claim a refund.
If you made your booking through Holiday Hamster, you will be contacted by us shortly. We will firstly be getting in touch with those customers who are currently in resort, after which it will be in order of your departure date to ensure that everyone gets the help they need.
If you booked with another travel agent or other travel company – not directly with Thomas Cook – then you will need to contact that company for advice and guidance.
If you have booked online direct with Thomas Cook, you will be contacted by the CAA and advised how to claim.
Holidays Booked With Other Travel Companies, Using Thomas Cook Flights
If you have received an ATOL Certificate for your trip, your travel company will aim to provide a replacement flight for you, if this is not available a refund would be provided. Again each company will have a different process so you will need to check with them.
Non Thomas Cook Holidays Booked Through a Thomas Cook Store
As a general rule the Tour Operator eg TUI, Kuoni etc would take over your booking and your holiday would proceed as planned – some Tour Operator’s may have a different policy but will communicate directly with you.
Thomas Cook Flight Only Bookings
There are no requirements for airlines to ATOL protect your flight only booking, however there may be some finical protections in place if booked through Holiday Hamster or a similar travel agent. Please contact whomever you booked with for clarification. If you used a credit card, you may be able to claim a refund via your credit card company.
The CAA have created a dedicated website with further information: ThomasCook.caa.co.uk, and they have confirmed that details of how to make a claim under the ATOL scheme, including the relevant forms, will be available within the next seven days.
